Classes

Classes for Adults:
 
These classes are about integrating the various aspects of body, mind and spirit. The classes are meant to challenge every student and yet allow compassionate room for students to work at their own level. All poses are taught  with multiple options for varying levels of strength and flexibility. The poses or asanas are used as a means to go deeper into the mind making the asana practice a moving meditation. The classes also include a few minutes of pranayama or breath control which are designed to center the mind and allow  the student to gain more control over prana or life-force.

While some classes are just well-rounded asana classes that address a variety of poses, some classes are designed to go deeper in one particular area - such as backbends, twists, inversions, hip openers, arm balances etc. The sequences are carefully planned such that every pose leads the student safely into the next.

More than anything, these classes should bring you a feeling of well-being and bring you closer in touch with yourself. It should give you a glimpse of the stillness of mind well-being that can be cultivated through the regular practice of yoga.
 
Kids Yoga Classes:
 
The kids classes are currently targeted towards kids ages 7-13 years. These classes use games and story-telling to incorporate asana, pranayama and meditation practice. Kids can expect to grow more aware and comfortable with their bodies through the asana practice. We explore a variety of asanas - standing poses, twists, backbends, forward bends, inversions and balances. They can also expect to find new ways to connect to inner stillness during emotional or turbulent times through awareness of their breath. They can expect to improve focus, concentration and connection to their core through introduction to meditation.
